The Snapshot is a small device (pictured above) that plugs into your on-board diagnostic port in your car that monitors your driving to help insurance companies determine what type of driver you are for rate quotes. It doesn’t monitor where you are or get “all in your business” it just records hard braking, how long car is operated, what time of day you drive, and total mileage. For 30 days it transmits this data to Progressive and they factor the data to determine a rate calculation. Regardless of the data collected your rate CANNOT increase – so there is nothing to lose.
